Hello friends, welcome to your own blog, when I say this, I really mean it. In this blog you can give comments, share your thoughts, request for information on Indian traditional costumes. Today, I shall reveal on the much awaited festival of India, Navratri. It is festival of colors, dance, music, fast and worship. Garb a and dandiya nights are organised for nine nights. What to wear for navratri, which outfits to select, dress code, whether tradition or ethnic is a task. It originates from Gujarat, a state of India. It is celeberated with same flavor in rest of India. Even where Indian communities is present, such as U.S.A. or Canada it is celeberated. Navratri is such an grand event, it is not possible to cover entire event in single post. I will be delivering in a series of posts.
Chaniya Choli is the main costumes / outfit for women and general dress code, latest fashion trends even have ethnic bandhej sarees. Chaniya Chili is a three piece cloth choli (for blouse), chaniya ( skirt type bottom), dupatta. Men wear kafni pyjamas, with pagadi. People perform folk dances such as Garba, Dandiya, Hudo, Tippani, Bhavai. As the name suggests Navratri, it is celeberated over 9 days and nights. Day means, at that time people fast and in night perform dance (garba / dandiya raas). Bright colors such as red, orange, yellow, blue etc. Jade blue color is mostly preferred by men.
